Well, now I started the computer again; still this error. I see that there's a new kernel update, maybe it'll fix it.
As I said, it has been working with the older kernels, so jaunty worked fine before. It's no use changing to karmic yet, these are work computers, and I need to test and run Karmic a good while before I update the other computers. Right now we're in a mixed environment between intrepid and jaunty (due to bugs in jaunty) - hopefully we can migrate everything to karmic. Anyway, jaunty is broken. I can try to restart after applying the new kernel update now.
