Daniel, Thank you for your interest in my problem. I downloaded and installed the realtek linux sound driver. (audiopak 5.13) which includes a driver for the ALC888 chipset. (ran the install file - not a manual install) Still no sound. I also installed a ALSA mixer GUI, to check the levels. Again no sound.
I must admit this is not urgent. I would like to move to Ubuntu from XP sometime in the future. Maybe I should wait for future updates. I have a new system (Core i7...etc) so this may be part of the problem. Sincerely thanking you, (and all people who help in the launchpad forum!!) Chris. ** Attachment added: "pulseverbose.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34749303/pulseverbose.log -- no sound 9.10 GA-EX58-UDR3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/466031 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
