Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kpdf

Kpdf version 0.5.2 - KDE version 3.5.2
Kubuntu version Dapper
kpdf package version 4:3.5.2-0ubuntu6 installed via apt-get using standard
kubuntu repositories

When I print a document from kpdf, the kprinter dialog appears and I check that
duplex printing is set to off (which is by the way the default for my printer).
Regardless of that setting, the document is printed with duplex on (long side).

First I thought it was a bug with kdeprint or kprinter but since it only
happens with kpdf (not with acroread or xpdf, even when those apps use
kprinter) I'm pretty confident it is a kpdf bug.

In case it helps, my printer is a HP 6122 with duplex support using the
recommended hpijs driver ( HP DeskJet 6122 Foomatic/hpijs (recommended)
- HPLIP 0.9.7).

This happens with every pdf file I print regardless of its origin
(creation method) and its number of pages (even single page documents
are printed with duplex : the second side remains empty but passes
through the printer.

This does not happen with document printed by other apps, even kde ones
like a web page printed by konqueror or a pdf printed by kghostview.

As far as I am concerned, this bug makes kpdf unusable !

PS
I found out that the kpdf provided by kubuntu is not the real kpdf ssued by kde
but a patched one to use poppler instead of xpdf.
Is this correct ?
If it is, is this information provided anywhere by kubuntu ? I think it should
be clearly stated as such

** Affects: kdegraphics (Ubuntu)
