I can confirm this bug too on Acer Aspire 5520. I boot Ubuntu 9.10 (final) and I can see tty1 console (login screen). Then it hangs about 30-45 seconds and after this time ubuntu continues in booting and after this I can see my desktop. So my boot on this machine is about 1.5 minutes.
