Public bug reported: I reported this bug through 'Report a problem' in Firefox (misleading) because the 'Sound Preferences' module of the Ubuntu 9.10 Final Release OS doesn't have a 'Report a problem' option. Also, this option isn't available in the blue question mark either!
When I right click on the speaker symbol on the upper right corner of the screen, I am presented with a check mark against the word mute. Simply touching the touch pad on my Asus A2H (a2500h) laptop computer with the cursor on the checkbox does NOT turn on the sound. Note that hitting the right button on the touch pad does work. Note that within the larger Sound Preferences box, the mute button can be check and unchecked by simply touching the touchpad when the cursor is positioned over the checkbox (desired behavior).
