Hi,

Acronis showed that the only bootable partition was for my windows 2000
installation. The ubuntu partition that had been present had been
removed apparently during the upgrade. I had been working my way through
upgrades from V8.04 LTS. V8.10 upgraded, then 9.04 upgrade caused the
problem. I'm sure I rebooted between upgrades.

I have now successfully upgraded from a CD with V9.10.

Regards,

Steve

Your bugreport suggests that your parition table was gone after the
upgrade? Is that correct?

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
Binary package hint: update-manager

After update completed with errors, the next reboot stopped at the swap file
message.
I ran acronis on my disk and found that there was only my windows partition and
around 58Mb of unallocated space. I assume this was not the ubuntu partition or
swap file space.
I have run fixmbr to remove the ubuntu boot option, and I will reinstall from a
9.1 CD. Windows still boots ok.
