Very interesting think: When I not using the accessible profile with both machine, the hardware volume button is works correct, gnome-volume-applet is present by default, and the hardware page is not empty with sound properties. I think the problem related is the default accessible profile integration, but I am not sure this is right or not. If possible, please ask this with Luke Yelawitch.
