I think this happened with both 8.33.6 and 8.28.8. I can try downgrading
to an older driver, but I'm not sure how that downgrade is supposed to
work with the currently installed kernel. Or should I downgrade the
kernel too to try older fglrx? Thanks!

Also, I found this URL to report problems to ATI about this driver, I guess I 
should try using it...
