Public bug reported: When trying to boot as a live cd or when trying to install Ubuntu 9.10 on my HP Workstation XW6200, the command line goes no farther than:
30%: Detecting filesystems... The screen then begins to blink seven times, then pause for about one second then blink seven more times. It keeps doing this. The processors are 64-bit and I have tried both 32 and 64 bit versions of 9.10. Previously I have been able to install other versions of Ubuntu and Linux on this computer. Before trying to install Ubuntu 9.10, Windows 7 RC was installed to the hard drive (still is) for testing.
