Well, I too have this problem. Jaunty took about 1 minute, Karmic more than 2 (although bootchart shows it as 1:35 the desktop is not loaded to the point of useability by then). And yes, I found early alphas to boot much better than the versions after the switchover to upstart. It switches display modes/boot screens several times during the bootup; it would be much better if it just had one screen with a progress bar from start to finish as the old boot system did.
Attached is my most recent bootchart. Can anyone make heads or tails of this? I need to do some reading to understand what bootchart is actually saying. Thanks everyone! ** Attachment added: "abg-laptop-karmic-20091103-2.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/35031181/abg-laptop-karmic-20091103-2.png -- Very slow boot up times (2m 30s) on Karmic 9.10 compared to 25 secs with Jaunty 9.04. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/464369 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
