Public bug reported: Binary package hint: synaptic
In Edgy Eft there was one textbox to enter the http proxy settings in Synaptic, so I always used this format: username:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:port Today I upgraded to Feisty, and now there is a new 'authentication button', where I can enter the proxy username and password. Great work, but, when I enter my proxy, port, username and password I get this error message: "407: proxy authentication required". So to me it looks like the proxy host and port do work, but the proxy authentication goes wrong or does not work at all. I also entered the proxy settings in the control center "Network Proxy" dialog, but that doesn't help. Update manager and apt-get work fine, so I think it's a Synaptic issue. ** Affects: synaptic (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Synaptic proxy autentication does not work https://launchpad.net/bugs/86769 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
