Shipping this package without builtin ssl support is wrong whatever the reason, so please: - try and find a way to accomodate ubuntu rules with the author's opinions and ship a package with ssl support - build a package with ssl support and ship it in multiverse - remove the package entirely from ubuntu repositories and let the users go to the author homepage to get it
