Public bug reported: after boot, Gnome desktop is displayed but desktop objects (links to folders and files, application launchers) are sorted randomly. Normally, they should be sorted by name as done manually before logout. Manually sort by name (right click on the mouse) works fine until next boot.
This happens since I've installed Ubuntu 9.10 desktop version, french language. partitions have been formatted in ext4. The theme installed is "Clearlooks Compact" slightly modified (I've attached it). This is obviously not a major issue but still annoying to redo a "sort by name" at every power on. Thank you for looking at this.
