Enabled karmic-proposed yesterday, and made an update. I saw that it
added the new rsyslog package, but I am still getting all these lines in
three logs, kern.log, syslog as well as messages.

Mind you, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this, so please tell me
if you want me to issue some commands to see if the fix actually got
applied etc.

some quick info about the machine:
$ uname -a
14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:04:26 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

$ lsb_release -a
