Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal
The Z key in Dvorak layout is the same key as "- / _" in German layout. So Gnome-terminal does not take the translated (according to the user's layout) keys for determining its shortcuts, but it uses some more low- level notion, wrongly. The effect is that I can't press Ctrl-Z in the terminal to freeze a program, because that triggers the zoom-window function. By the way, it's interesting that the Ctrl-- (i.e. the shortcut pressed with the Dvorak - ) ALSO shrinks the terminal window; the Dvorak Ctrl-+ also works. So probably it's only one shortcut too much. With German layout, the "+ / *" is on the same key as "= / +" in Dvorak, so naturally, I don't see a difference there. This is Gnome-terminal 2.16.1 on Ubuntu 6.10, fully updated as of Feb 22nd, '07. ** Affects: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Ctrl-Z shrinks window with Dvorak keyboard layout https://launchpad.net/bugs/87035 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
