This bug is annoying to me since Ubuntu 7.04 and affects accesses to the
hard drive periodically (my computer: Samsung R65 notebook). Until 9.04
I was able to avoid it by disabling the CD drive polling (sudo hal-
disable-polling --device /dev/sr0), CD drive seems to influence the
occurrence, but since I installed Karmic (yesterday) this is without
effect.
