** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: console-setup

I Jaunty I used to set my keyboard variant settings in /etc/default
/console-setup as a workaround to it not being available in UIs since
- Hardy (as per Bug ). Now since the upgrade to Karmic, I not only have
- to use setxkbmap everytime I login, but also if I switch to the console
- and back to X.
+ Hardy (as per Bug #359719 ). Now since the upgrade to Karmic, I not only
+ have to use setxkbmap everytime I login, but also if I switch to the
+ console and back to X.

Also, the console is not using the layout set in /etc/default/console-
setup, so it appears this file is being ignored in my laptop.
