I have the same problem on my HP HDX16-1050EV.Ubuntu 9.10 (64bit) lsusb: Bus 006 Device 002: ID 138a:0001 DigitalPersona, Inc Fingeprint Reader.

I tried the groups "fprint-demo, libpam-fprint, libprint0" and "thinkfinger-tools, libthinkfinger0" and it doesn't work.
