Alas, that's one drawback of the single-maintainer system used by Debian: if that single individual doesn't respond, a bug can remain open for an eternity. Let's see if we can ping a few key figures of the Debian project that happen to be sympathetic to Ubuntu, to speed things up. Please stay tuned.
