Further digging indicates that the T60p doesn't allow the use of the
full 4GB, at least in 32 bit mode. There is no way to tell the BIOS to
use it (see screenshots attached), even with an upgrade to the newest
BIOS. For a thread of discussion of the situation, see

reports 4GB, and Vista passes this on to the user, actually accessible
memory is 3GB.
