I'm actually going to mark this an invalid because Debian/Ubuntu policy now clearly states:
If it is very hard to adapt a program to make use of the EDITOR or PAGER variables, that program may be configured to use /usr/bin/sensible- editor. Hence, this is not a bug, because subversion uses the EDITOR environment variable. I still don't understand why select-editor doesn't actually choose an editor in Ubuntu or Debian, but clearly someone thinks it makes sense. And a subversion bug is not the place to discuss this. ** Changed in: subversion (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- svn should default to /usr/bin/sensible-editor like cvs does https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/304175 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
