OK, now i currently running the new kernel (2.5.31-16 actually, sorry, it was not 2.5.31-6) from Stefan Bader's PPA and here is the result: 1. The virtual CD-ROM device in my Huawei E220 containing the Windows application (not the Macintosh partition) can be detected again (not detected since around Hardy, if I am not mistaken) 2. The modem connects to the mobile network more quickly (Connecting... OK) 3. I still can use my WM6 device's internet sharing to connect to the internet (using the same USIM card and provider) 4. my DNS lookup issue solved
But, the main problem hasn't solved. I still cannot browse anything, nor updating using the Update Manager while I am connected to the mobile network using the E220, even the modem status is "Connected" in the Network Manager Applet. I might not be available next week, but you can reply me any time. I will try to check for update on this report if I have time.
