compiz and compiz-* packages recieved updates on this morns update-manager run but issuing a compiz --replace still yields a largely unusable windowmanger w/ many things (like the taskbar/panel being unresponsive) and ctrl-c and then metacity must be invoked to restore usability... (atleast the gnome terminal works through all this wm madness). but still no terminal error messages lol hrmm -- Richard
