Glad you are still open to the idea! I will be installing the other add- on, but didn't like how some changes have to be manually made. Perhaps this could be the first reason to open the preferences button for this add-on, for when inevitably some will want the old behavior only. But I can see where it would open up some can of worms. It is a good idea as it keeps notifications consistent. Empathy, Evolution, pretty much everything can and by what I understand is supposed to be able to use Notify-OSD. Perhaps in time.
