Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libmagic1
Everything works perfectly in Jaunty. In Karmic, both the file command, and the Fileinfo pecl extension for PHP (5.2.10) are broken. Instead of returning the proper mime info, they return "application /octet-stream". Installing packages `file` and `libmagic1` from Jaunty in Karmic fixes the issue.
