Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kopete
I have an openfire server, and frequently get a message (every few minutes) from Kopete that describes that there is an unrecoverable error in the protocol. This bug has become incredibly annoying, as I am constantly disconnecting / reconnecting to the Jabber server. There is a similar bug filed here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=212585 I'm connecting to my jabber server with SSL, on the default port. The only suspicious thing in the openfire server logs is an inability to lookup proxy.jabber.org with DNS, but this might not be related. I first suspected that this error was related to the openfire configuration itself, but since others seem to have the error on the KDE bug tracker I now suspect Kopete. I'm on Kubuntu 9.10. kopete: Installed: 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu4 Candidate: 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu4 Version table: *** 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://ubuntu.osuosl.org karmic/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Sat Nov 21 21:18:29 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/kopete NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: kopete 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu4 ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash LANGUAGE= ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic SourcePackage: kdenetwork Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686 ** Affects: kopete (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- kopete with Jabber: unrecoverable error in the protocol, frequent disconnection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/486518 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
