I'm not so sure this is an Empathy bug. Since when the Indicator Applet crashes, there's no way to get empathy back without re-loading the application. What the indicator applet needs is support to bring back original tray icons if it crashes and hide them away when it's brought back.. Currently if it crashes it gets the appearance that messages are lost, and thats why this bug was created in the first place IMO. discussion?
