I can also confirm this. Running evolution --force-shutdown after crash helps to recover. IIRC there is a bug similar to this for Ubuntu 9.04 and Evolution 2.26 with same kind of symptoms. Couldn't find it now but one workaround was to disable SMB by removing/renaming /etc/smb.conf but that didn't work this time.
