Thank you for taking the time to make ubuntu better.
The gimp is a photoshop replacement we are removing it for very valid reasons.
Most people only use editing software to touch up pictures and that can be done
in F-Spot. I am marking this bug as invalid. We talked for a long time about
this issue and we know not everyone will agree but you can still install it via
the software center or synaptic.
