Hi Franck,
The Debian maintainer made a change in his package that make it builds
in Lucid: the change is different than in Karmic (we changed the
debian/rules file to use automake 1.11, he put an explicit dependency on
automake 1.10) but it's working.
So you should change this merge request into a sync request: I'll ack it
as soon as it's done :-)
