Sergio. I've just noticed that the floppy desktop icon has now appeared. It 
must be that initially something is not set up correctly (see attached 
screenshot).  If I click on Floppy drive in Nautilus, the message 'Unable to 
mount location' , 'No medium in the drive' is displayed. If I click on floppy0 
Nautilus shows the contents of my floppy drive.
If I go to Places-Removable Media-Floppy Drive the drive makes a noise as if it 
attempts to access the drive (an initial click). 
In Places-Removable media there is now floppy0 at the bottom of the list and 
accessing this displays the contents of the floppy.
I only have one floppy disk drive on this PC.
