Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: debian-installer

I've prepared an usb pendrive with the hd-image kernel and initrd,
installed syslinux and edied syslinux.cfg to append 'console=ttyS2' to
the kernel command line.

in debian, this enables installation over serial console connected to
/dev/ttyS2. In ubuntu, the syslinux prompt is displayed, I see a
progress bar from the linux kernel, and the curser is moved in the upper
right area. However, nothing is printed on the screen.

** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
