I have the exact same laptop as the guy in that thread. In the thread I posted in Ubuntu Forums, I also found the solution ( http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=356269&page=2 ) The problem is that, the solution, which is booting on acpi=noirq, makes the USB work but there is a side effect. The Wireless LAN of BenQ Joybook R31E stops working. I hope there is type of boot that will solve this.
