Additional information that might be helpful: 1) The same result (system hangs up) you can get if you use "Display" dialog instead of Fn+F5 combination to switch to external monitor (or vise versa); 2) The way how system hangs up is similar to Fn+F2 bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/404626); 3) If I use xrandr to change target monitor, it works without any problem (xrandr --output VGA1 --auto && xrandr --output LVDS1 --off) 4) The kernel update 2.6.31-15, that was recently delivered, did not fix ti; 5) If I use ONLY external monitor and put my system to suspend mode closing netbook lid, it turns on BOTH (VGA and LCD) monitors when wakes up. With Jaunty it worked correct;
