Ok, I think I found why I don't see this. This is only happening in
older versions of Ubuntu, as far as I see only hardy has this problem
and it was fixed starting in Intrepid. So one option of solving this for
you would be to upgrade your version of Ubuntu (be aware, this will
change many other packages as well with good or bad side-effects!).

Alternatively you can try to manually download and install the newer
filelight-package with the following steps in a terminal:

 cd /tmp
 
http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/universe/f/filelight/filelight_1.0-2ubuntu2_i386.deb
 sudo dpkg -i filelight_1.0-2ubuntu2_i386.deb

Afterwards installing the filelight-i10n package should work.
