As a security measure, I mount my boot partition as RO. It may be a good
idea to use the elevated privileges of APT while upgrading to check for
this and remount the boot partition as RW before installing the new
kernel and reset the partition to RO immediatly afterwards. I keep
forgetting to do this every time I see a kernel upgrade on the update
list.
