Greetings!
After upgrading from Ubuntu 9.04 to Ubuntu 9.10 sound is not working
properly. Depending on the desktop configurations sound gets
choppy/noisy, and the microphone does not work properly (or does not
work at all).
I tried to test the microphone in text mode as root using "alsamixer" to
set the volumes and using "arecord" to record the sound and "aplay" to
play it, and just get noise.
Before the upgrade sound was working properly (so it seems to be a
driver bug).
My sound card is this:
