I'm not sure that original change was ever intended to fix this issue.
g_app_info_should_show() returns TRUE or FALSE based on the combinations
of the OnlyShowIn and NotShowIn keys in the desktop file, and the
current desktop environment. This change hides all applications that
have OnlyShowIn another desktop other than GNOME, or NotShowIn GNOME,
which is separate issue to this bug
