I too am having this problem. It will sometimes work 3 or 4 times but
will then have problems. The only solution I have found when it happens
is to do a hard reboot.

I have also noticed that the system will not fully go into sleep by just
closing the lid. I believe it is related. The system will give me the
login prompt asking for my password after resume from sleep (from
opening the lid) but will then go back to sleep as I am typing the
password in. I have gotten into the habit of just putting it to sleep
via the menu before closing the lid, but it would be nice to not have to
think about it.

I am using the 64 bit 9.10 rather than 32 bit. This is pretty
frustrating and hopefully it is a simple fix. A work around is fine too,
as long as it sticks with updates.
