I also have a Acer Aspire 9412AWLMI and i tried much distros with all the same result (freeze...). Someone (witch i thank a lot!) at the fosdem at Brussels showed me this post. Since i putted a cd in the cd drive no more freeze. I'll try to upgrade firmware of the cd drive and i'll say you what'd the result. hoping this bug will be soon fixed... thanks
