Public bug reported: Binary package hint: policykit-1
I'm in LUCID now, and I'm experiencing this problem. policykit does not work (I can't mount external disks, I can't edit system network connections, I can't edit users and groups, I can't change labels in the disk utility). Almost everything ends up with "not authorized", and edit dialogs are greyed out. I tried to manually start policykit to see if there is some debug and I got this at startup (then nothing else): (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:3283): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type `_PolkitError' (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:3283): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed I think that policykit can't be started ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Date: Mon Nov 30 14:00:54 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release amd64 (20091027) Package: policykit-1 0.95-1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic SourcePackage: policykit-1 Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic x86_64 ** Affects: policykit-1 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug -- policykit does not work at all https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/490322 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
