since compositing is enabled by default in the installation of ubuntu 9.10 (NBR), this bug is probably quite relevant... when new users install for the first time and doesn't have a clue what's happening and why they'll probably end their experience there and then... either this bug should be seen as quite important or the default setting shouldn't use compositing (the easy solution is probably to not use it as default until the bug is fixed).
