I guess my grandma argument *is* kind of flimsy :P Is dmraid not able to look at the content of the disks? It should be able to tell that the disks are unformatted for a raid setup, but formatted for a non-raid setup.
But that's not the main issue. I would really like dmraid to install itself more carefully with a big popup saying "we found a RAID setup on your system, is that right?" I see similar behavior for some other packages. Obviously I don't know what I'm talking about, but shouldn't the dmraid installer be able to see that the disks are not in a RAID setup, and leave them that way?
