Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Applet on Gnome Panel displays as disconnected with an exclamation mark inside
a cloud, will not connect when clicked. Applet starts on boot with the default
settings. This was working last week, and when I first installed Karmic I was
about to add my computer and sync a few files. Restarting Ubuntuone temporarily
gives me a black cloud and the message that it is syncing my files, but then it
returns to disconnected state.
