Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

I have an HP 1020 printer.
I have successfully used it with Ubuntu 7.04 to 9.04. In these cases, I have
used the package foo2zjs.
However, after upgrade to Ubuntu 9.10, the package foo2zjs do not work anymore.
I tried to install it again, but I have no success.
In a trial and error approach, I deleted the printer using the cups graphical
user interface (system-config-printer 1.1.12) and installed foo2zjs again. But
this make make the problem worst. After this, system-config-printer 1.1.12 can
not find the printer anymore, while lsusb does.
I then installed hplip. But this package still do not find the printer.
In all the cases, if a boot the system with the printer connected and turned
on, the boot process crashes with the following message:
usb 5-2: device descriptor read/8, error -110
I already read similar bug reports here. But no one helped me.
Thanks in advance
