I agree that udev should be fixed in the first place, it has no reason
to touch the sleeping drive.


Your patch fixes the crash for me:

$ $LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib/:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH shares-admin

(shares-admin:16955): Liboobs-WARNING **: Could not find any network
device on the system: The name org.freedesktop.Hal was not provided by
any .service files.

The shares-admin window shows up, and I can edit shares. Thanks.
