I cannot reproduce this on a Core Duo with a fresh 6.06 install (all updates installed as well). Which version of Ubuntu are you running? How did you verify that the machine has hanged? Is this on x86 and if yes, with what kernel? (run `uname -r` in a terminal to find out).
