I had the same problem in Debian testing, grub2, version 1.97~beta3-1, md and lvm configuration. Building grub2 from bazaar repository didn't help. The delay occurs in biosdisk.mod file somewhere in grub_biosdisk_rw while accessing disks, especially fdd.
Simple solution for me was to completely disable Floppy in bios. (In my case I even didn't have floppy connected to controller, but enabled) Now there is no delay when grub2 is starting. Thanx Stephen Janny -- grub2 shows 'biosdisk read error', then boots https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/396564 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
