The last kernel update broke it completely. Now even the above 'fix' dose not work at all. When the system first rebooted the wireless box in the panel network box did not even show. rfkill unblock all which prior to the kernel upgrade started the wireless lan, Now no effect. Another reboot and the wireless network box is now visible but not accessible. rfkill unblock all no effect.
