Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
After applying the latest updates to my Kubuntu installation, Xorg stopped working It would complain about going into "low graphics mode" but then going into low graphics mode would not work It would also show this message: "(EE) Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000: failed to initialise for relative axes." but this is a false indication, no error is actually shown in the logs if the keyboard is umplugged but Xorg malfunctions in the same way If I edit xorg.conf to use the vesa driver, it will complain about going into "low graphics mode" but then going into rescue mode works. (with vesa graphics as expected) ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Dec 8 17:50:22 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion dv2000 (RE178AV) NonfreeKernelModules: wl Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.0-1ubuntu2 ProcCmdLine: root=UUID=a87d6cf7-bcdc-47ef-ba46-70514650f51d ro quiet splash ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-16.52-generic RelatedPackageVersions: xserver-xorg 1:7.4+3ubuntu10 libgl1-mesa-glx 7.6.0-1ubuntu4 libdrm2 2.4.14-1ubuntu1 xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.0-1ubuntu2 xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.12.99+git20090929.7968e1fb-0ubuntu1 SourcePackage: xserver-xorg-video-intel Uname: Linux 2.6.31-16-generic i686 XsessionErrors: (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:3298): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed dmi.bios.date: 04/19/2007 dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.bios.version: F.31 dmi.board.name: 30B2 dmi.board.vendor: Wistron dmi.board.version: 61.58 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: BRG723F095 dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: Wistron dmi.chassis.version: N/A dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnHewlett-Packard:bvrF.31:bd04/19/2007:svnHewlett-Packard:pnHPPaviliondv2000(RE178AV):pvrF.31:rvnWistron:rn30B2:rvr61.58:cvnWistron:ct10:cvrN/A: dmi.product.name: HP Pavilion dv2000 (RE178AV) dmi.product.version: F.31 dmi.sys.vendor: Hewlett-Packard fglrx: Not loaded system: distro: Ubuntu architecture: i686kernel: 2.6.31-16-generic ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- Karmic going into "low graphics mode" after latest updates https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/494167 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
